I can pull this off the wall while I’m my pink pajamas when I hear a squeaky noise in my house and look cool walking down the stairs.
There are some fun aspects to this, especially the appearance, with the colorful pink and display piece. It is definitely only for display, as there are some cheaper aspects to it, but it is fun for looking at and showing off.
I'm normally very critical of knives and anything with a sharp edge, really. I've seen a lot of "Katanas" that would sell for $35 at the flea market on Saturday. When I got this today, upon removing it from the box I quickly came to realize this is NOT a $35 flea market Katana. The excellent quality and sharpness of edge reveal a much more capable and worthwhile blade. In fact, examining it from tip to hilt looking for imperfections or..."short cuts"...none can actually be found. If only Beatrix Kiddo's legendary blade had been pink.If I had to nit-pick, I found a slight (ever so slight) "burr" (or possibly a "wire" from sharpening) which was quickly polished to a razor edge with a few strokes on a fine diamond hone. It was only found on the very tip and only ever so slight, so it wasn't worth a star off.In short, if you're in the market for a pink Katana...and who isn't...this is a BEAUTIFUL blade that's ready to display. Or fight off a gang of angry ninjas. I mean, your choice. 5 stars.
